Lou uses her ten years of experience as a Digital Account Manager to explain how small businesses and start-ups can make social media work for them, and how they can manage Facebook and Twitter so that it doesn’t become all-consuming.
A common misconception is that social media will take over your life, leaving little time for anything else. The reality is that with effective time management and free tools such as Hootsuite it can be easily managed and is a great way of creating awareness for your business.
In her presentation Lou explains how Facebook pages work and why businesses should use them, rather than profiles, as well as explaining key features and terms for Facebook and Twitter. She also gives delegates tips on the rules of engagement.
